Baptism is one of the Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church, which are milestones in our relationship with God.
If you would like to arrange for your child to be Baptised, please download and complete the form from the link below and email it to the Parish email address: ourladyofcompassionformby@rcaol.org.uk
Once we have this information we will contact you to arrange a date.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2026
Preparation for first Holy Communion is carried out in our two Catholic Schools, Our Lady’s and St Jerome’s. Parents of young people who do not attend these schools can take their child through preparation themselves. Please contact St Paul’s bookshop in Liverpool who can provide you with all the preparation material.
First Holy Communion Dates for 2026 are
2nd May at 10am for St Jerome’s School
9th May at 10am for Our Lady’s School
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Preparation for first Reconciliation is carried out in our two Catholic Schools. Young people who do not attend these schools should approach Father John after Mass to inform him that they would like to receive Reconciliation. He will then make arrangements for formation of the person to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is carried out at Deanery level. Please see information below for 2026.
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated in the deanery in the summer. All children in Year 8 and above are eligible. Please register your interest at the following website; liverpoolcalled.co.uk This must be done by February 13th. Bishop John (Rawsthorne) will celebrate the first Confirmation Mass on Tuesday May 5th at St John Stone. The Confirmation preparation dates are as follows, at St John Stone Church, commencing at 7pm.

Alternatively, any young people wishing to be confirmed can email heartstone@rcaol.org.uk and we can add them to our list that way.
MARRIAGE
Those wishing to be married in the Parish of Our Lady of Compassion should meet with Father John after Mass to discuss.

SACRAMENT OF THE SICK
If a parishioner is sick or dying and needs the sacrament of the sick, please call 01704 873230. If the phone is not answered please leave a clear message including your name, the reason for your call and a contact number. The answer machine is checked every day and you can also send an email to: ourladyofcompassionformby@rcaol.org.uk
